Free Medical Care Outreach (FMO) has been one of the major tools for our Mercy Ministry here. In such outreaches we give offer free medical care to deprived people in Villages. We also use the time to share Gods word, pray and give counseling to people who opt for it.

Our last months outreach took place on the 18 th at a village called Bennyinase and its surrounding villages. The people there have no Access to good drinking water, electricity and a clinic. They depend solely on running streams for their drinking water and have to drive for about an hour to the next town to have access to a health centre not talking about the bad roads leading to and from the place.

Due to lack of money and health facilities most of the villagers seek medical help from Witch doctors and fetishes, which in the end has a negative effect on their Christian Beliefs. Their houses are made of mud clay. We were privileged to get a school building to serve as aclinic for the outreach In all about 205 patients were treated from various diseases like Lumbago, arthritis, bilharzia (urinate blood as a result of the bad Drinking water), malaria.

We also shared out second hand items like shoes, clothes, bags, given out by parishes, friends, and parishioners. During this particular outreach we were privileged to be supported by Phyto-Riker Pharmaceutical Company. They provided us with large quantities of drugs needed hence reducing the amount of medicines we would have purchased for the outreach(thanks to you all who prayed for Gods provision for us. It really worked).

Also for the first time we had a medical doctor on our team something we have been praying for. We had always used medical assistants and nurses. Dr. Armel Abou who is now part of our medical team comes from Ivory Coast a neighboring country to Ghana and working with the St Joseph hospital in Koforidua. Since he came to Ghana he has been looking for the opportunity to go on mission outreaches and to help the less privileged. Hence his readiness and joy to join our team.

One sad story encountered at Bennyinase is the story of Emmanuel a man With an amputated leg. Hes been married to his wife for over 20 years and have been blessed with children and about 10 grandchildren of which 7 are Living with them because their parents have refused to take responsibility.

His wife has now deserted him as a result of his illness and current situation. Hes now left with the responsibility of taking care of their young kids and 7 Grandchildren.
